The mission
To expand access to action sports, support the athletes who built the culture, foster innovation, and strengthen the communities that inspire it, driving positive impact around the world.
The X Games Foundation is the philanthropic arm of X Games, built to carry the impact of action sports beyond competition. It is an independent public foundation with 501(c)(3) status, with its own board and its own team. Every gift is deployed according to documented donor intent and reported on its own terms.
The vision is simple: a world where action sports create opportunity, purpose and community for every generation.
What we do
Three priorities. One culture.
Every program, partnership and grant maps to one of these.
01 · Action sports development
Youth access
We partner with cities and community organizations to get more young people on boards, bikes, skis and snowboards: Learn to Skate and Learn to BMX programs, better access to the places they ride, and real chances to discover a sport and stay in it.
A dedicated community for former X Games competitors as they move into their next chapter: career training and mentoring, financial wellness, and brain and mental health.
Everywhere X Games goes, the community comes in: tickets through local nonprofits, school and youth partnerships, behind-the-scenes days with athletes, and a standing commitment to first responders, military members and their families.
Ahead of the MoonPay X Games League Championship at the Caesars Superdome, X Games in the Community launched with 3,000 tickets for Louisiana nonprofits, starting with 1Up Bike Life, a youth organization built around bikes and mentorship. By the end of the weekend, more than 5,000 tickets had gone out statewide with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, 220 young riders had been behind the scenes with X Games BMX Legends including Anthony Napolitan, and the Foundation had donated ramps to rebuild Parasite DIY, the city's homegrown skatepark.
Sacramento · 2026
Adaptive Learn to Skate at Cal Expo.
With SkateMD and Exposure Skate, an adaptive Learn to Skate session put kids on boards during X Games Sacramento. Local nonprofits Project Lifelong and PopOut916 had their own spotlight at X Fest, youth skate and BMX groups got practice-day access to the athletes, and 1,000+ tickets went to nonprofits, youth groups and military families.

The X Games Foundation was created to get more young people into action sports and make our events more accessible to the communities we visit. X Games in the Community is about more than donating tickets. It is about removing barriers, opening the door for kids to experience X Games firsthand, and giving them a real connection to the athletes, culture and sports that can inspire them.

Roughly that many athletes have competed at summer and winter X Games since 1995. Until October 2026, none of them had a formal home after competition.
X Games Legends
Thirty years of athletes. For the first time, a home after competition.
X Games Legends is the first alumni program in the brand's 30-year history: a verified community open to every current and former X Games competitor. Through the Foundation, it expands what athletes can count on after their competitive careers: financial education, post-career education and mentorship, and resources for brain health and mental wellness.
“X Games is the premier platform for the progression of action sports. I really hope the Legends Program can become that for the post-career life of an athlete.”
Give, partner, or bring the program to the kids you already serve.
Give
Every gift is deployed according to documented donor intent, toward a measurable outcome that stands on its own, independent of any single event. You will know what your money did.
Brands, foundations and host cities fund the work: a presenting partner for Learn to Skate or Learn to BMX, equipment and travel grants, or a legacy skatepark investment in a city X Games visits.
Run a youth program, a school or a nonprofit in a city X Games visits? Tickets, athlete visits and behind-the-scenes days reach kids through local partners like you.
